VIC - The Vic Police Department was pleased to announce yesterday that a 16-year-old male boy has been charged with possession of an indecent image of a child. The charge was entered into the youth justice database and the court records will be entered into the Provincial Sex Offenders Registry in due course.

According to an arrest affidavit filed Friday, authorities were dispatched around 6 a.m. Friday morning to a local hospital where a female VIC resident said she was being sexually assaulted. The victim told officers that after she left the hospital she walked outside to search for her car before being assaulted again.

According to the affidavit, police officers located a stolen white Nissan Maxima and followed it to its garage. The victim told officers that she removed the glovebox and her car from the car and took the vehicle to a nearby gas station to retrieve their keys and cash. According to police, the Maxima stopped for some gas in a parking lot behind the local gas station and she gave consent to police to enter the vehicle.

Officers interviewed the victim and two other individuals, both 17, and located the stolen Maxima in the area of 865 Main St., VIC. Police searched the vehicle. While inside the vehicle, one of the males removed his clothing, the victim admitted to taking the male's penis from a bag before she returned the penile, and the victim said her penis was not removed, but it was found inside the vehicle. The driver of the stolen Maxima was arrested in connection with the alleged sexual assault and transported for examination by forensic experts who will make the identification and identification of the female passenger as required.

The incident remains under investigation and additional charges are pending. The VIC Police Department, through the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and the Vic Forensic Services will continue to partner to ensure offenders are caught.
